Massage Envy Launches Rapid Tension Relief Combining Advanced Hyperice Technology and Human Expertise for Maximum Results

Rapid Tension Relief now available exclusively at Massage Envy franchises nationwide

March 13, 2019

SCOTTSDALE, AZ – Today Massage Envy, the leading provider of therapeutic massage and skin care services collectively across its franchise network, announced the introduction of a new advanced professional massage technique called Rapid Tension Relief.  Rapid Tension Relief (RTR) combines human expertise and the skill of a licensed massage therapist with the cutting-edge technology of Hyperice’s Hypervolt device to deliver a new customer experience.

Hypervolt is a cordless, state-of-the-art vibration massage device that helps ease muscle tension and minor aches and pains.  It features Hyperice’s Quiet Glide™ technology, providing a quiet and soothing experience.  Men’s Health named Hypervolt as the best recovery tool of 2018.

Vibration and percussion massage devices are already being used by athletes in a variety of ways to help improve physical performance.  Massage Envy wants to bring this technique to everyone. With four different head attachments for targeted treatment and three speed settings delivering up to 3,200 percussions a minute, the Hypervolt device will assist therapists in maximizing the effectiveness of their technique.

“You don’t have to be an athlete to benefit from massage.  Many of the activities we put our bodies through each day, such as sitting for prolonged periods of time, take a toll on our bodies.  We are delighted to partner with Hyperice, the industry leader in developing innovative solutions to improve physical performance,” said Joe Magnacca, president and CEO of Massage Envy Franchising. “By leveraging the expert knowledge of massage therapists and the Hypervolt device, we are now able to exclusively provide highly concentrated vibration therapy treatment, allowing for muscle stimulation to help ease tension.”

"Our mission at Hyperice is to help everyone on earth move better through innovation. This new innovative Massage Envy experience, combining specialized massage therapist technique and Hypervolt vibration technology to ease tension is quite progressive," said Jim Huether, Hyperice CEO. "We are excited for Massage Envy customers to experience this, they are going to love it!"

Massage therapists employed by franchisees across the Massage Envy franchise network have undergone extensive training in how to most effectively use Hypervolt to maximize results during a 30-minute RTR session paired with a massage or Total Body Stretch, or as an enhancement.  In partnering with Hyperice, Massage Envy has established exclusive protocols to make sure the members or guests get the best experience and results regardless of the franchised location they visit.

The Rapid Tension Relief service is available at Massage Envy franchised locations nationwide.  Additionally, the Hypervolt is available for purchase at select Massage Envy franchised locations, making it possible for customers to enjoy the benefits of the device at home.
