Massage Envy Announces National Award Winners at 2025 Annual Performance Summit

Scottsdale, Ariz. (March 27, 2025) - Massage Envy, a national leader in skin care and the nation’s No.1 provider of massage in the U.S. collectively across its franchise network, has named the winners of its national awards program at the organization’s 2025 Annual Performance Summit in Dallas, Texas. The awards recognize franchisees and their employees as well as schools across the country that demonstrate Massage Envy’s core values of optimism, gratitude, excellence, consistency, and empathy.

“These national awards are an amazing opportunity for franchisees to recognize their employees who consistently go above and beyond to meet the needs of their members and guests,” said Todd Schrader, CEO of Massage Envy Franchising. “I am honored to celebrate these incredible individuals who continue to live Massage Envy’s core values, day in and day out, with their can-do attitude, passion for the wellness industry and commitment to helping others.”  

Winners are first recognized within their market, then all market winners are invited to and awarded at Massage Envy’s Annual Performance Summit. During the award gala, one winner from each category is then recognized and celebrated as the national winner. The following awards were presented for the 2024 calendar year:

National Therapist of the Year: Peter Wang, Massage Therapist at Massage Envy Wildomar, Calif. Franchised Location: According to his manager, Wang exemplifies Massage Envy’s values through his dedication to time management and his personal and impactful relationships. He also serves as the assistant business manager and has organized and presented new products and offerings to his location. He created a personal extern training program, offering real-life techniques, body mechanics and behavioral coaching to current and future therapy students. Location manager Ashlee Williams shared, “Peter is a shining example of what it means to show up for your clients and the rest of the clinic. He knows how important it is to shape and guide these students into confident therapists, and he has poured everything he has into showing them how to make a lasting career with Massage Envy.”

National Esthetician of the Year: Cheryl Voytko, Esthetician at Massage Envy South Windsor, Conn. Franchised Location: Voytko is exceptionally committed to her team and her clients, according to her location manager. She provides a welcoming experience for her clients, and champions the importance of follow-up visits frequently, recommending her fellow staff members when she is booked, to ensure her clients continue their routines. Al Berardi, location manager, noted, “She expertly balances a full week of hands-on treatments, administrative duties and training sessions, all while maintaining her status as a top earner. Cheryl’s expertise in skin care not only retains clients but also promotes their overall well-being. Her commitment extends beyond the clinic as she actively promotes Massage Envy’s skin care services at local senior centers, educating seniors on proper skin care for mature skin.”  

National Stretch Service Provider of the Year: Andrew Palmer, Stretch Service Provider at Massage Envy Burke, Va. Franchised Location: According to his manager, Palmer’s uplifting presence and contributions extend beyond the physical relief he provides his clients during each session, and his manager noted this attentiveness has helped build a loyal client base and increase the overall retention rate of his franchise’s total body stretch services. Hanna Martin, location manager, said, “Andrew continuously seeks ways to improve his skills to elevate the overall service quality. His proactive approach to client care, including follow-up sessions and tailored recommendations for stretching routines, ensures that each client stays motivated to achieve their health and wellness goals.”

National Sales Associate of the Year: Sydney Moran, Front Desk Associate at Massage Envy Erie, Pa. Franchised Location: As shared by her manager, Danielle Myers, it is Sydney’s positive attitude that makes a difference to members and guests every day. Myers detailed, “Sydney always steps up to help wherever it is needed, whether training new employees or picking up additional responsibilities. She has shown so much growth and leadership in so little time that we recently promoted her to ‘Lead Wellness Consultant’ and Membership manager.”

National Manager of the Year: Kassandra Coss, Manager at Massage Envy Venice, Fla. Franchised Location and Massage Envy Port Charlotte, Fla. Franchised Location: According to her franchisee, Coss has been praised for successfully running two locations over the past eight years and her unwavering support for her employees, members and guests. As shared by her franchisee, Loren Niswander, “She consistently goes above and beyond her day-to-day tasks to ensure that everyone feels safe, welcomed and taken care of, no matter the circumstances. She is the heartbeat of her location.”

Franchisee of the Year: Scot Ziessman, Franchisee at Massage Envy Blaine, Edina, Maple Grove, Cloud, Stillwater, Vadnais Heights and Woodbury (Minnesota) Franchised Locations: The Massage Envy brand would like to thank Scot for his dedication and empathy to his team’s professional growth and well-being. Over the past year, he acquired and revived three Minnesota locations while maintaining operations for four other locations in the area, a testament to his commitment to keep Massage Envy at the highest standards and maintain a thriving, positive environment for members and guests. According to Scot’s team, “Within the first couple of months under his ownership, Scot answered every promise he made. Anything and everything we needed, Scot made happen. All our staff feel valued and respected, and we come into work every day feeling heard and supported.”

Spirit Award: Chris Baratz, Franchise owner at Erie, Greensburg,  McCandless, Monroeville, Settlers Ridge (Pennsylvania) and Morgantown, W.Va. Franchised Locations: According to his franchise location manager Madalyn Wible, Chris has the Massage Envy spirit through and through, having discovered Massage Envy as a client, quickly becoming a member and applying to become a franchisee shortly after that. Within three years, he opened six locations. His manager shared, “Whether celebrating his employees’ accomplishments each year through his clinic gala or manager trainings to encourage his employees to feel empowered across his locations, Chris truly understands and cares about the well-being of each of his teammates and approaches everyone with empathy and encouragement.”

Excellence in Education Awards: The following awards are given to schools that exude dedication to the massage industry and advancement as a massage school:

  • Cortiva Institute Maitland
  • Medical Training College
  • New Mexico School of Massage
  • Wake Tech Community College
