Massage Envy Announces Continued Support for The Skin Cancer Foundation's "Save Destination Healthy Skin" Campaign
Ahead of National Skin Cancer Awareness Month, Massage Envy will help raise awareness of skin cancer education and screenings through the Foundation's Destination Healthy Skin Program
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. and NEW YORK, April 29, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Massage Envy, a national leader in skin care and the nation's No. 1 provider of massage in the U.S. collectively across its franchise network, announced today a continued agreement with The Skin Cancer Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that helps educate people on skin cancer awareness, early detection, treatment and effective sun protection. Ahead of National Skin Cancer Awareness Month in May, Massage Envy Franchising has again committed a $25,000 donation in support of The Skin Cancer Foundation's Save Destination Healthy Skin campaign. The Skin Cancer Foundation launched the fundraising campaign to purchase a new RV for their mobile skin cancer screening program, Destination Healthy Skin, which provides free skin cancer screenings and educational resources to people across the U.S. The 2025 program is set to kick off this month.
"Providing members and guests with convenient access to total body wellness and self-care is important to our mission, and through our continued work with The Skin Cancer Foundation, we can also assist in educating consumers across the nation on the importance of skin cancer screenings," said Todd Schrader, CEO of Massage Envy Franchising. "As the lead sponsor for the Save Destination Healthy Skin campaign, together, we're not only helping increase access and availability of these important assessments but also raising overall awareness for such an important cause."
The RV, which travels around the country each year, has two private exam rooms. The program relies on local volunteer licensed dermatologists to provide free, full-body skin cancer screenings on board. No appointment is necessary, though screenings are on a first-come, first-served basis. In 2025, the RV will be on the road from April to November, stopping in 30 cities for approximately 50 events, with more dates and locations announced throughout the year.
"One out of five Americans will develop skin cancer by age 70, and as we prepare for National Skin Cancer Awareness Month in May and the 2025 Destination Healthy Skin program, we're grateful for Massage Envy's support that will help us continue our important mission," said Staci Pierson, Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships at The Skin Cancer Foundation.
Since the program's launch, volunteer dermatologists have provided more than 32,000 free skin cancer screenings, identified nearly 13,000 potential skin cancers and precancers – including 615 suspected melanomas – and distributed free skin cancer educational materials and sun protection products to more than 100,000 people.
To further support The Skin Cancer Foundation, from May 1-30, Massage Envy franchised locations will feature donation cards and educational resources at the front desk, where members and guests can scan a QR code to make a direct contribution and learn more about the initiative. The brand will also raise awareness about skin cancer on social media and highlight the campaign on its website.
