By providing the service in a membership format, Massage Envy makes it possible for more people to receive the benefits of therapeutic massage regularly, Counelis said.
Another factor that sets the service apart is its location in a neighborhood shopping area, he said. Convenience is important in reaching clients.
Most people will get a massage while on vacation or when visiting a spa, but one massage won't solve the problem, Counelis said. The treatment is especially needed because of today's active lifestyles and active older adults.
Several massage modalities are available at the clinic: Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, sports massage, prenatal massage and reflexology. Therapists customize treatment based on the client's needs, Counelis said. The 3,500-square-foot clinic offers a tranquility room and 13 treatment rooms. The Orangecrest clinic is the first in Riverside for Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Massage Envy and one of 400 nationwide. The clinics are open seven days a week and offer daytime and late-evening appointments to accommodate clients' work schedules. Membership benefits may be used at any Massage Envy clinic throughout the country.
